Bellydancing extravaganza

I went to MEDA's 'Grande Bazaar' yesterday, which is a yearly event for the local bellydancing community. IT WAS AWESOME and only $5 to get in! There were quite a few performers, some of which I recognized from my classes. I think it's great to have an opportunity to perform, but I think that getting all dressed up is the best part and it was neat seeing all the different costumes. The Bazaar part was why I went though. Bellydancing wear is not exactly available at The Bay or the local dollar store. So, it was a good opportunity to find a variety of items and WOW! DID I! I spent ~ $140, which to be honest is a little beyond my budget. However, considering the sheer amount of things to buy I think I did okay. The best purchase was my bellydancing pants, which are essentially genie pants, were only $10. My veil, which needs to be a bit longer than arms length & down to your knees, was only $5. I splurged on a beautiful blue circle skirt and two new hip wraps. I had my heart set on fringe so settled on this hip wrap with fringe along the bottom. The other wrap was all beaded and very pretty. I wanted to find some music but couldn't find anything affordable and/or with songs I recognize. I still have not gotten a suitable bellydancing shirt or bejeweled bra but I think the pants are a good step in the right direction. Maybe next year.
