Sidekicks

Okay, so I have eaten my second Sidekicks meal in about a week's time and I have to say that it really does not have any nutritional value whatsoever. It's really tasty and filling but other than a sprinkling of dehydrated vegetable matter and dairy products it does not give enough nutrients to an individual. Now, it is supposed to be a side but being a lazy, chronically single person, I do not always ant to make a meal. It's a lot of work and a lot of pots & stuff so I often go for the 5-10 minute meal - salads, sandwiches, frozen dinners, pizza. Sometimes I want to cook, but not as often as I don't want to. I don't want to eat out all the time either, but I certainly appreciate a quality meal that I don't have to prepare or clean up after. I am planning to make Broccoli salad, a recipe my co-worker kindly gave me, but I forgot to pick up the remaining ingredients on my way home and a trip to the grocery store was unthinkable once I actually got in. Tomorrow and Thursday I get free meals though because we're having a conference for work. THAT's awesome. I love free food even more than just a quality meal. I know people who love cooking and will cook every day or every other day. They make large portions and freeze them. That sort of thing. I would like to be more like them, it's just not likely to happen. I don't mind the cooking, but I'm hungry by the time I get home and then a 1/2 hour to 1 hour wait just seems too difficult. I am also tired of the same old, same old. I need variety, thus the broccoli salad plans. Wednesday I need a lunch & supper since I won't be at the conference (and no, it's not a fun day, it's a day of actual work) so I'll try to remember to pick up the rest of the salad ingredients tomorrow. "Try" being the key word here.
