Birthday in Africa

Today is my b-day and I was up well before my 4:15 a.m. alarm went off. We had coffee and Rusks (yummy biscuit things like biscotti) and then were off on our morning drive through Kruger National Park. I saw rhinos which is possible the best birthday present ever. I have had some awesome birthday presents mind you, but seeing a wild rhino 10 feet away really takes the cake. The guide, Simon, gave me a box of chocolates and card and we had sparkling wine with our brunch as my special birthday meal. It was lovely. I have to say this is one of the best ways to spend my birthday and it was a frickin' awesome day. We´re having a traditional BBQ for dinner so that should be great.

The only draw back is the 4:30 a.m. start again tomorrow...
