Discount Mania

What do I do when I have time, money & stuff is on sale? I shop! Well, first I try to resisit and think about what I really need. And obviously we're not talking the need for food & shelter, we are talking about the extras. So, what do I really need? Well, a new rain jacket since my previous one has finally had it and is in tatters. What else? Another CD rack since mine is overflowing & God forbid I have more clutter. Anything else? Well, another hook to hang my jewelry on. Ok, so perhaps Mark Work Warehouse, Ikea & I do have gift cards from the Bay so I'll just check that out. So 2 days of shopping and I have the jacket, the rack, the hook AND these AMAZING hot red shoes, a black coat, 2 tank tops, 4 books, 2 CDs, a plant pot, a chair, 2 shelves and some wrapping paper (only 99 cents!). This is what happens when stuff is 20, 30, 40 or 50% off. The discount fascilitates the purchase of 'what I want' making the need part just a foot in the door. I can't help myself. Though, I am proud to say that at the very least I did not buy anything questionable, just stuff I will actually use so I feel only mild guilt over my purchases. The most frivolous item was the shoes but seriously they're red & hot! I just had to. I needed red shoes. Really!
